Sita Air, the vital Airlink
Aviation in Nepal has a brave and pioneering heritage,
and Sita Air is proud to maintain a pioneering spirit
that has set the pattern for the airline’s reputation.
From modest beginnings of Sita Air has developed into
domestic airline with a comprehensive network of scheduled
services, and most reliable airlines in Nepal. It is
the continued support and enthusiasm of the people we
serve which has given us the strength to expand, and
which is the foundation of our success.
The early years
Sita Air began operation in 2003 with single
aircraft.
Almost immediately, it was apparent that there was a
demand for scheduled services & cargo flights and
as such Sita Air’s fleet grew. As the network
expanded to take in more remote Airports and communities,
Sita Air’s scheduled network began to emerge.
In 2004 Sita Air started flight to various sectors such
as Janakpur, Simra, Biratnagar, Bharatpur, Bhairawa
& Nepalgunj, but gradually we focused more on Western
area region of Nepal due to huge demand of STOL aircraft
in that region & passenger flow.
Coast to coast and beyond
Apart from Lukla, The Shurkhet has become the focus
of expansion, as the stage now set for the next major
step forward – a hub of business routes is from
Shurkhet/Nepalgunj out of core business platform.
We are also planning to add few brand new single engine
aircraft to support the flight operating from Nepalgunj
& Surkhet for charter & cargo flights.
Getting down to business
Firmly established as Nepal’s Airline, new horizons
were sought, and in 2005 Sita Air took over Surkhet
– Bajura, Surkhet-Jumla, Surkhet- Simikot route
for food grain cargo of Nepal Food corp. and World food
program under United Nation.
The new routes are added since 2007 is Pokhara-Kathmandu
and Pokhara – Jomsom, Served all most through
out the year.
With business traffic representing an ever-increasing
proportion of Sita Air’s annual passenger carryings
& Cargo flights, Sita Air acquired further aircraft
very recently and is in operation now, We are riding
a wave of success and optimism so time has come for
Sita Air to enter into the Cross border & international
market.
From these small beginnings, and under the control of
Sita Air's loyal management and dedicated staffs, the
company has seen the fleet grow with the introduction
of the 5th aircraft and from a steady and watchful eye
on new opportunities.
We are in the process of obtaining the license from
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal for international
operations/ cross boarder operations and we would like
to welcome foreign Investment in this journey to international
market segment. Further information on this part can
